CARLOS RUIZ GOMEZ-IBÁÑEZ

MSc, Executive MBA

This blog was initially created as a way to express and show all my professional experience, including the areas of Innovation, Marketing, or Leadership & Management, in a multicultural environment, driven by my personal interest in Geopolitics.

Being born in August 1965, I did an MSc in Computer Science, just to pursue in 1990 an initial career in the telecommunications industry.

I was then more attracted by a more B2C or B2B2C perspective. I did an Exectutive MBA, and I decided to gain experience as a Management Consultant.

The companies that I have worked in include: Huawei Technologies (since late 2007), Everis Management Consulting (2005 – 2007), Nortel Networks (1996 – 2004) and SAT – SAGEM (1992 – 1996), after having served as a Lieutenant in the Spanish Air Forces in 1991, and as a department assistant in the Artificial Vision / Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid.

All in all, I have accumulated a wealth of Business Management experience in Strategy, Management Consulting, Marketing, Sales and Operations over Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and America, and now with a leading telecommunications solutions’ provider headquartered in Shenzen, China.

These responsibilities have allowed me to really understand all the related markets and geographies (Western Europe, North America, Latin America, MENA, China), but also the different human mindsets in working and in management of companies with all those origins.

I have also been an Associate Analyst at the Instituto de Empresa Business School ENTER think tank in ICTs during almost two years.

My main personal interests include: Sailing (wooden sailboats, preferably, with a growing involvement in the related construction skills), (European) Rugby, and History.
